• Account and profile information, such as your email address, account identifier, trail name, profile photo, and optional profile details.
• Location and hike information, including location points, route recordings, arrival points, trail names, access details, and related metadata when you use location-based or recording features.
• Photos and content you choose to add, such as images, notes, ratings, reviews, and trail submissions.
• Technical and service information, such as device and app information, diagnostics, and information required to secure and operate the Service.

How we use information

We use information to provide the Service, save and display your hikes, support trail mapping and review workflows, maintain security, respond to support requests, improve the app, and comply with applicable law.

Location, routes, and sharing

Location recording is used to provide hike and map features. A route, review, photo, or trail submission is not made public merely because you record it. When you choose to submit content for community review or publication, the submitted material may be reviewed, edited for clarity or safety, and displayed in Elevation Snob according to the sharing choice and workflow shown in the app.

Service providers

We use service providers to supply the technical parts of Elevation Snob, such as account services, secure data storage, mapping, hosting, and app distribution. They may process information only as needed to perform services for us and subject to appropriate contractual and legal safeguards.

When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers, when you direct us to share it, when you choose to submit content for a community feature, to protect the Service or people’s safety, or when required by law.

Retention and controls

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can manage or remove certain profile, hike, and contribution information within the app. Some information may remain in secure backups or records where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

Children

Elevation Snob is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us through the support path in the app so we can address it.

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, this website, or another appropriate method. The “Last updated” date above identifies the latest version.
