These Terms of Use govern your use of Elevation Snob, operated by Ledgeworks LLC (“Ledgeworks,” “we,” “us”). By accessing or using the app or website, you agree to these terms.

Use the Service responsibly

You may use Elevation Snob for your personal, lawful hiking and outdoor-planning activities. You are responsible for your account, the accuracy of information you add, and your conduct when using the Service.

Outdoor safety and independent judgment

Elevation Snob may display user-submitted routes, directions, trail access points, maps, weather-adjacent context, and other outdoor information. Those materials may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, inaccessible, or unsafe for your circumstances. They are not a substitute for your own planning, local rules, official guidance, weather awareness, equipment, ability, or judgment.

You alone are responsible for determining whether an outing is appropriate and safe. Do not rely on Elevation Snob as an emergency service, a rescue tool, or a guarantee of route, road, parking, access, trail, or navigation conditions.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you create. When you upload or submit content to Elevation Snob, you give Ledgeworks a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, adapt for formatting and safety, and display that content solely to operate, improve, and promote the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to share it and that it does not violate another person’s rights or applicable law.

We may review, decline, remove, or edit submitted content when reasonably necessary for accuracy, safety, quality, legal compliance, or the operation of community features. A reviewer may correct the public name, mountain, access point, or coordinates of a submitted listing while keeping the original submission as an internal record.

Community features

Information marked “Needs Mapping,” route details, ratings, reviews, trail classifications, and collection progress can change as hikers and reviewers contribute more information. You should treat community content as a starting point for your own research, not a promise of conditions or access.

Prohibited use

You may not misuse the Service, interfere with its security or operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit harmful or deceptive content, infringe intellectual property rights, harass others, or use Elevation Snob in violation of law.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Elevation Snob as we improve the Service. We do not guarantee that every feature, listing, route, or map will always be available or error-free.

Disclaimers and limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Ledgeworks disclaims warranties not expressly stated in these terms. To the extent permitted by law, Ledgeworks will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from outdoor activities, reliance on Service content, or use of the Service.

Termination

You may stop using Elevation Snob at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users, rights holders, or others, or when these terms are violated.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Elevation Snob evolves. If a change is material, we will provide notice through the app, this website, or another appropriate method. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
