Record original ground.
Capture the route you actually hiked, then add the access details and observations another hiker would want.
Our mission
Elevation Snob is a New England hiking app, born in the White Mountains and growing through reviewed routes in Maine and New Hampshire. Hikers help build the map and share in the value they create.
Where it started
The New Hampshire 48 taught us that every hard-earned foot has a story—and that the best trail knowledge comes from people who were actually there. Elevation Snob carries that lesson anywhere hikers go.
How the map grows
Contribution should feel valuable because it is valuable. Clear standards protect the map; meaningful rewards recognize the work.
Capture the route you actually hiked, then add the access details and observations another hiker would want.
Original routes are reviewed before they reach the shared map. Useful contributions matter more than raw submission volume.
Approved work can count toward challenges, recognition, membership benefits, and occasional product rewards.
Our pricing promise
Community work should create community value. As contributions make the product stronger, Elevation Snob will return that value through fair pricing, meaningful free features, and durable earned rewards.
Use community growth to keep pricing meaningfully below premium-category hiking subscriptions.
Keep meaningful recording and personal hiking tools available without a premium-priced plan.
Any lifetime membership earned through an official challenge remains a lifetime membership.
Planned founding challenge
Our planned challenge will invite hikers to submit ten original trail maps. When all ten pass review, the contributor earns a lifetime Elevation Snob membership. Top contributors may also unlock partner gear and additional rewards.
Final eligibility, originality, review, and reward rules will be published before the challenge opens.
